Kristofer (Egill Ólafsson), an aging Icelandic widower, is in the early stages of dementia. His doctor believes he only has months left before his dementia reaches the stages where he won't be able to function on his own, so he advises Kristofer to settle any unfinished business.
With that in mind, Kristofer travels to London, where he was once a student at a business institution, but dropped out to work in a Japanese restaurant and fell in love with the owner's daughter, Miko (Koki Kimura). When the restaurant suddenly closed and the Japanese family moved away, Kristofer felt abandoned. He decides to finally find Miko, and discovers an address for her in Japan. But it's 2020, and the COVID-19 pandemic is starting to close in, so he gets a seat on one of the last flights to Tokyo to find his lost love.
