All About Lily Chou-Chou Overview
In a small Japanese town, 13-year-old Yuichi Hasumi (Ichihara) lives with his mother, her boyfriend and his son. A model student, Yuichi gets good grades and he makes friends with Hoshino, also a good student. That summer, they go swimming but Hoshino almost drowns, then, they witness a bloody traffic accident. The next term, Hoshino has become aggressive, taking on the school bully and forming a gang. He bullies everyone, including Yuichi. Yuichi forgets his troubles when he discovers the popular singer Lily Chou-Chou. He begins listening to her songs all day and manages a fan website dedicated to her. When a classmate forced into prostitution by Hoshino’s gang commits suicide, and another classmate, a talented pianist, is the victim of a gang-rape, Yuichi finally decides to get revenge during a Lily Chou-Chou concert in Tokyo.
