awesome, awesome, awesome, thats all I see in other peoples reviews... they must be paid PR people for the studio... I saw the movie last night.. a decent sci-fi movie, but not awesome.... you have to shut down your common sense to enjoy this movie... i agree with other reviewer.. 1953 version still truer TO HG WELLS

I dont understand how people can say it had no plot or a weak one its follows an american family trying to survive the war of a life time how can u say thats not a plot what more do want?

The movie was good because of Spielberg. Martians were great and stayed true to the novel with their actions. Tim Robbins steals the movie. Tom(too many close ups)and Dakota(screams alot)made me root for the Martians to get them. Missed important plot point Thunder Child. Watch for the cameo at the end of the movie.

Very good movie. Very good acting from Tom, Dakota and Tim. The special effects are very well done and Spielberg managed not to overwhelm the audience with too much of it. The movie reveals the drama through which this family is going and focuses less on the other people. Sound is good, though a bit loud sometimes. All in all an excellent movie which I truly recommend. This is a MUST see for this year.
