Some cool worldbuilding as always, but laugh-out-loud cheesy dialogue and basically the same plot as always

I’m giving Avatar 3 a single star primarily because of the extremely poor 3D projection quality at AMC Classic Palm Harbor 10. I don’t know if the theater had technical issues, but the projection was so bad that most people around us were taking off their 3D glasses, likely trying to see whether the movie looked better without them. The 3D was also so uncomfortable and poorly calibrated that it caused significant eye strain throughout the entire screening. This is not a case of us being sensitive to 3D. We’ve watched plenty of 3D movies over the years, both in theaters and at home, and we’ve had a 3D TV for more than 15 years without ever experiencing any discomfort or visual issues. If anything, this made the projection quality here even more shocking. If this is the same 3D projection quality offered at other theaters as well, then there’s barely any point in discussing the film itself. Still, I’ll note that the movie does feel slightly better than the second one thanks to the introduction of an antagonist native clan, which adds at least a bit of tension and direction. Beyond that, the story relies heavily on recycled themes and familiar narrative beats. In conclusion, the extremely disappointing 3D projection quality compared to the first two Avatar films overshadowed everything else and made it nearly impossible to appreciate any of the movie’s improvements.

The fight scenes were too long.

I liked this movie, more mayhem like the first 2. I like that the prodcer tied everything together at the end, bringing the story full circle.

It's sad that what makes money for Hollywood these days is not good plot, not original thinking or creativity, but effects-heavy, politically correct codswallop. Absolutely nothing new or original in this one, except for the effects. As much as we must recognize and honor George Lucas for introducing the world to benefit of realistic special effects, I wonder whether a piece of crap movie such as this would even have been greenlighted in the first place if there were no over-the-top special effects to buoy it, because the concept/plot/characters have no inherent value whatsoever. What a sad time in which we live...!!!

Avatar is about gender identity and transgender rights for the Na'vi, a fictional blue-skinned people. Many people applauded when the man in the film chose to transition into one of the blue beings. It was heartwarming to have more transgender cinema figures to look up to.

Three is a charm. The first was interesting because it was so different from anything seen before. The second one was way too much war and chaos. The third was more of the same. I will stop looking at them now.

I liked how the Ash people are basically like the invaders coming to North America.
