War of the Worlds wasn`t bad, but it did disappoint me al ittle bit. I expected an awesome action epic, but all I got was a boring and choppy action- drama. In its limp-wristed defense, the acting was good and the special effects were amazing, and it is worth seeing in the theatres.( It made alot of money on opening weekend that`s for sure. 113 million is so much, even George Lucas must have been sweating.)

Vey poor! In my opion folks I would get Jeff Wayne`s musical verision of this classic HG Wells masterpiece rather than watch this. Tom`s acting was ok - but the supporting actors where all rather poor with Tom trying to carry the film by himself - Im afraid this is a one to miss.

If you actually payed attention to the movie you would understand the ending, and beleive or not the beginning scene with all the bacteria was a major part of the story. Just because a movie doesn`t have mindless explosion just for the sake of making something blow up doesn`t mean that it`s a bad movie, it actually makes it better, it pulls you in and makes you pay attention. The ending was great because it was unexpected, it wasn`t the tipicle "The all-mighty americans destroy the aliens with there superior army in a hail of gunfire and explosions."

Very Entertaining 4.5 stars The best thing about of this movie that people missed was the realisation that this guy might actually care about his kids. It wasn`t so much an Alien action type of movie but a thriller with a heart. If you`re expecting a dumb but action pack movie like Indepedance Day, don`t bother. If you want a movie with breathtaking visuals and thrilling scenes and a good story, this is the one for you. OK i`ll admit they could have made the movie 20 minutes longer and make the ending a little more rewarding but that`s just a small part of it. Like I said, the Aliens were just a supporting cast Tom and the kids were the Star

I can`t believe most people gave this movie one star. It was spectacular. I would actually pay to see it again because I`m sure there are things that I missed. My mother and father went to see because I recommended it. My father loved it, my mother didn`t like it only because of the "edge of your seat" feeling throughout the entire film. I would highly recommend this movie. Probably the best movie I`ve seen since Lord of the Rings. Not that I`m comparing the two.
