The movie did not quite follow the Bible, however, it was very close. The message was to TRUST GOD regardless of the situation you find yourself in. Trusting in GOD is the light that over comes darkness. Our children need more positive messages.

My kids laughed AT this movie, not with it. Utter nonsense. Stop trying to use religious bs to make money.

"David" might be a lot better than the Disney propaganda being pushed on us but it was a total fiction! Nothing like the actual Bible account. This is a different David than the one we read about in the Bible. Not one mention of the Gospel but a plea for more money at the end of the flick so that "under privileged children" can visit a movie theatre to see THIS movie. This is a modern, pop culture David invented for a modern movie. I think it was more about Phil Wickham trying to relaunch his musical career.

This movie had the most uplifting music for everyone, not just kids. I felt like I was watching 90's animated classics - for today. The artwork was vivid, fun and playful. The story was very digestible for children especially given how nuanced the Biblical story of David is. There was a strong emphasis of David's relationship with his mother that felt more like a Jacob posture. My littlest danced and moved with the songs and just as she began to get restless - there was another song. The preteen enjoyed watching young David struggle to remain hopeful only to grow into the warrior set to be king. The Amelkites have a bone and skulls of dead animals outfit. Their presence in each scene was more of a haunting creepy feel that spooked my little one so be mindful of your little ones are sensitive to that type of stuff. All in all, it was a great movie and handled well for a young audience.

I admit I haven't seen it since Ciniplex only shows it in the middle of the afternoon. There is a lot of crap out there that I have seen or won't go to see. This one i would like to see but can't.
